Yellowstone National Park

This is my spot in the Rex Hale campground located south to the entrance of the park.  The park is secluded, quiet and has electrical and water hookups.

Shell Creek Wyoming

This was shot with a Nikon D800E with the capture board converted to infra-red.  This is an excellent way to shoot digital black and white.
This spot defines a boondock spot.  Boondocking is when you camp without any hook ups.  This Airstream has a 40 gallon fresh water tank, a 40 gallon grey water tank and a 40 gallon black water tank.  Your grey water tank holds water washed from the sink and shower, and the black water tank holds the sewage water.  When the grey or black water tanks are full, they have to be emptied at a dump station.  Electricity is supplied from the Airstream's battery array, or from a generator.  In the back of the pick up there is a Honda 3000I generator (30 amp) that can supply enough quiet electricity to power one of my two air conditioners if needed.  The refrigerator and hot water receive their energy from the two 40 lb. propane tanks mounted on the front of the Airstream.  For the most part, the battery array suffices with a 30 minute run on the generator a day without ac.

Most of my camping will be in State Park sights.  Shell Creek runs just behind the tree ridge.  I was able to catch my limit of brown trout each day.

Shell Creek is a very secluded spot.

Thankfully, Walmart is friendly to weary travelers who need a place to stay overnight.  Some Walmarts get packed at night with 18 wheelers, RV's, vans, you name it.
